Brief Job Description

-  System Shut down/ IPL’s.

-  Start and Stop of Subsystems ( DB2,CICS, IMS, IDMS, MQ Series)

-  Taking Snap Backup for Data Recovery

-  Spool Maintenance using JES commands.

-  SMF backups/Managing CPU utilization percentage.

-  Scheduling  user requests and special runs through CONTROL-M

-  Break-fix for job failures, problem determination

-  JES2 Spool Monitoring.

-  Console Monitoring

-  Scheduling  user requests and special runs through CONTROL-M

-  DB2  User’s  Permission Granting / Revoking

-  Break-fix for job failures, job restart, problem determination

-  Monitoring of jobs , abend resolution and escalation of abends

-  Monitoring the batch cycles and bypassing of job due to problems etc.

-  Recording of abends, Creation of problem ticket and approving Changes

-  Ensuring that production batch completes successfully.
