CICS (Customer Information Control System) is a general purpose transaction processing subsystem for z/OS environment. CICS has stood test of times with initial version (CICS/OS) that was released in 1968 with minimum functionality. With the latest release of CICS V3.2 offering Web services standards, 64-bit storage for CONTAINER, enhanced support for Enterprise Java that conforms to the J2EE Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) architecture among other features.
